Weekly update--fresh chickens!!

Posted 7/31/2010 7:11pm by Eric.
Greetings Everyone -

We are slowly moving forward with our adoption process, but the big question is...When will you get to meet Dema?? Check out the Blog!  You will need to scroll through the weekly emails to find each weeks update.

We are currently fundraising to cover expenses during the Ukrainian orphan hosting camp week.  One of the easiest fundraises we found is offered through Hoss's.  It costs our organization nothing--all that a familiy needs to do is present Hoss's wilth a voucher when your order is placed.  Our organization will recieve 20% of your total bill.  We will have the vouchers with us on Tuesday, or we can email you one (which you can forward to all of your friends!)  Our designated evening is Thursday August 5th at either the Altoona or State College Hoss's--please consider supporting this worthy effort!

What's new outside??  Hopefully rain on Sunday!!!  With all of this heat and little rain in Warriors Mark this past 2 weeks, the produce fields are suffering!  The spagetti squash, zucchini, and cucumbers are really thirsty!!

In the kitchen
- The meat pies are made using our own fresh pasture raised chicken, and organic spelt flour for the crust.

HARVEST SHAK - The Harvest Shak is open every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10-7.  We encourage pre-orders for pick-up at the Shak, especially for prepared food items (soups, salads, quiche, meat pies, etc.) to be sure you get the items you want.  For directions to The Shak click here scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the bubble in the middle of the map.

Where to find us:  Tuesdays from 2-6 in Boalsburg at PA Military Museum, click on the logo above to find out more about the outdoor farmers' market This week is the annual Buy Fresh Buy Local extravaganza!  Harrisons will be at the market grillin' and The Poe Valley Troubarores will be there pickin' and grinnin'!  PASA heads up the day with plenty of information about their sustainable agriculture programs. If you have never visited this market it is a great way to spend an afternoon--lots of vendors and plenty of free parking. Fridays we make deliveries for pre-orders in the parking lot between Uncle Joe's Woodshed and Everything Natural in Altoona from 3:00-3:30 p.m.  Orders may also be picked up at the Harvest Shak Wednesday, Fridays or Saturdays from 10-7.  Please remember that orders for Tuesday/Wednesday need to be placed by noon on Monday, and Friday/Saturday orders are due by Wednesday evening.
