Ukranian orphanage connection
Russ and Lori Walk are good friends of ours who have recently adopted a little girl from the Ukraine and through that process they have felt the need to do their part in finding homes for 20 other children that they met during their trip. Cindy and I have made the decision to get involved with this effort, with our time, financially, and possibly as hosts for one of the children while they are here in the states. This effort will cost approximately $50,000 for Truthquest Ministries just to bring the children here for the 2 weeks!!! But, with potential adoptive parents coming from across the nation, the investment could be well worht it!! Truthquest Ministries (a 501 c non profit) is seeking tax deductable financial assistance to bring this project to fruition, but they are also working to get the word out to any potential adoptive parents. This camp will be held this August, so we are working hard to get the word out quickly! If you would like to help, or know someone who might be considering an international adoption, please feel free to email. sales@edenvieworganics.com

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD!
Why assist a Ukrainian orphan? There are over 100,000 orphans waiting
to be adopted and that many more children living in the streets of the Ukraine.
Between the ages of 14 & 16 the children leave the orphanage with no family,
home, job, minimal education and no social service help to help them get
established on their own. At age 16 they graduate from the orphanage and are
on their own in the streets. Statistics show that 10% of these children commit
suicide before 18 years of age, 70+% of boys end up in a life of crime and 60+%
of girls in prostitution, they have no other choices for survival. Many children are
preyed upon by pedophiles and sold into slavery. While visiting the orphanage in
Ukraine we met so many sweet children who are desperate to belong and be
loved. A hosting program is the number one way these children find adoptive
families, this is their hope.
THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A
CHILD'S LIFE WITHOUT YOUR HELP IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DO THIS
PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY!!!!! These are needy children who you can help to
make an eternal difference in their life! We are so very blessed, spoiled even, as
Americans. Adoption is not for everyone, but there are other ways you can help.
Please consider which area you can help these children. We need
your help, they need your help.
Arthur – Age 14
Arthur is a very helpful, well mannered, well liked young man by adults and
peers. He is described as an awesome boy by everyone you speak to, with all
very positive reports about him. He stands out as kind and always looking for
ways to help others. There is nothing negative at all to report about him from
anyone you speak to about him. He is well liked by everyone: adults and peers.
Two older brothers, one seventeen or eighteen in technical school , and one in
his twenties. They do not come to visit him or make an attempt to be a part of his
life, no need for separation. He has a father that has no rights to him. We don’t
have any information about his mother. Arthur is a very polite and helpful young
man that is eligible for adoption. He is all alone, without any family contacts.
Anna - Age 16 Anastasiya – Age 12
SIBLING SISTERS
Anna is fairly new to the orphanage. We were told that she arrived around
a year and a half ago. She is some what shy until you show interest in her. She
waits to be approached, she is not the initiator. Once she is approached she is
very interested. Once you get to know her she is nice. At times she can be
slightly moody.
Anastasiya attends church every chance she has the opportunity. She is
outgoing, friendly. She initiates friendships. She gets along well with the other
girls in her group and others at the orphanage. She is welcomed and well
accepted also among other groups other than her own. She is eager to please
others and participate in activities. Missionaries describe her as a little
sweetheart and that they couldn’t say a bad thing about her.
Anastasiya – Age 16
(Sibling Anna Age 8)
We did not have any direct contact with her, but others describe her as being
very quiet, well liked and a nice girl who gets along well with others. Anastasiya
has a sister, Anna, age 8, who will be on the hosting program also. We do not
have any information or a picture of Anna at this time.
Igor – Age 11
We did not have any direct contact with him, but he is described by the
missionaries as being quiet, calm, well mannered, nice, and friendly. The
missionaries shared that Igor always approaches them and shakes their hand to
greet them. Sister, Valentyna, who will be 18 in December, after 12/18/2010 no
need for separation.
Dmytro – Age 9
Dema could have a possible learning disability upon observing him. His motor
skill development is also slightly behind. The older children especially boys often
target him to pick on him, therefore he shys away from all groups where older
children are involved choosing to play alone. He is a nice boy, very calm, meek
and mild. He is a good kid with low self-confidence. He plays on his own much of
the time. Missionaries report that he is a “good kid” who hangs out with them a lot
rather than the other children when they visit the orphanage. Has brother ,
Valerly, age 13 who is severely ill and in a different institution they can be
separated.
Sergiy – Age 8
Sergy enjoys painting and is a pretty good artist for his age. He is friendly. Has
some issues with another boy in his group, but overall he is very nice. Has older
sister Vika, age 17, we have no information about her but he can be separated
from her. Sergy enjoys playing with the missionaries and other adults who visit
the orphanage to play with the children.
Anastasiya – Age 13 Viktoriya- Age 12
Sibling Sisters
Anastasiya is an amazing girl. She loves to go to church, she is always
trying to arrange to go to church, but is often not permitted to leave the
orphanage to go. She loves the Christian atmosphere and eagerly and actively
participate at every opportunity she has. She makes friends easily. She is
mature. She loves music: singing and dancing. She is a positive leader in her
group and initiates responsibly. She has maintained active contact through
writing letters with missionaries who have worked at the orphanage. She
understands some English and I eager to learn more.
Vika is a friendly and out going girl. She likes music and dancing. She is
eager to participate and be involved in any activities offered. She is warm and
loving. She welcomes new relationships
Anastasiya – Age 11
She gets offended easily. Nostya is starving for attention and therefore demands
much attention. She has an older sister who graduated from the orphanage who
does not maintain any contact with her. She is very outgoing and initiates
conversation and friendships. She is always waiting to greet everyone with a big
hug and a huge smile. She sulks when she doesn’t get her own way or when the
rules are not according to her. She likes to win. She has a great interest in
learning English and is studying and doing very well. She thrives on one on one
attention, she does not like the attention of the person she likes to be elsewhere.
The missionaries said that when she was younger she was very cute and
received much attention from everyone and she was used to that. Has adult
sister, no need for separation.
Dmytro – Age 13
Dema gets along well with everyone. He is friendly and has many friends
here at the orphanage, he is very well liked by his peers and everyone seems to
know Dema. He has been at the orphanage for a very long time, the missionaries
report at least 8 years and say that he is a “good kid”, one of the most well
behaved boys at the orphanage and enjoys spending time with them. All the
missionary team really likes him. Brother, Sergiy, born 1993. Unknown where he
is at, most probably adopted. If not, separation possible.
Sergiy – Age 14
Sergiy is your average boy that blends in with the crowd and does not stand out
or draw attention to himself. He is well behaved and well liked by his peers. He
is described by others as a nice kid. Adult brothers- no need for separation.
Viktoriya – Age 14
Vita is very friendly, she is always the first person to greet you upon arrival
at the orphanage. She always has a huge smile on her face and a big hug to
welcome everyone with. She also walks everyone to the gate with a hug good
bye and a smile to send you off. Exceptionally nice girl. ALWAYS kind. Never
gets offended. Very meek, mild and humble. She enjoys attention, but would
never demand it, she stays in the background. She is content being with anyone.
If given the opportunity she is in church (she rides the van to church any yime
she has the opportunity and doesn’t depend on others to accompany her). She is
very highly interested in Christianity. Brothers: Oleksandr, born 1992, (no need
for separation), Oleg, born 1993, (can be separated).
Denis - Age 7 Anastasiya – Age 8
Siblings Brother & Sister
Denis is a fun and fun loving little guy. He gets punished often for getting
his clothes dirty or tearing clothes not for disobeying. Very nice boy. He is very
close to his sister they always play together. He was brought to orphanage from
baby orphanage. His mother is consistently in and out of prison, she lost parental
rights. Denis is a fun boy! He takes part in all the activities and enjoys them all.
Anastasiya has a close relationship with her brother, Denis, and has a
strong influence on him. She eagerly takes part in all activities. She is fun to be
around, but sometimes gets offended since recently moving up to the older group
of girls. Adjusting to the older groups typically takes awhile, since there is far less
individual attention for children.
Eduard - Age 13 Olena – Age 14
Sibling- Brother & Sister
Eduard is an amazing young man. He is very polite, kind, considerate, and
well-behaved. He is conscientious. He follows rules and directions. He thinks of
others before himself. He is affectionate and likes to joke around in a playful and
fun manner. He is sensitive to others feelings. He and his sister have a good
relationship and are kind, loving and considerate of one another. They both have
an untainted innocence about them that is rare to find in children their age.
Eduardo is a super young man all around.
Olena is a real gem! She and her brother are both super kids. Olena is an
extremely talented artist for her age. Her art has been entered in regional
competitions where she has taken first place and earned art scholarship money.
She is a positive leader among her peers and both her and her brother are very
well liked by their peers. Olena enjoys singing and dancing and does lead roles
in performances. She is well-mannered and well behaved. Olena and Eduardo
have both won my heart.
Why the Ukraine?
• It is easier to adopt from the Ukraine than most other places,
• The adoptions are final,
• The children fit easily into your family, many people say she could be our
biological child.
• David and the Stork Agency were wonderful to work with and walked us through
the process step by step. They are professionals who know what they are doing,
people you can trust to get things done properly, efficiently and timely.
• The children’s only hope is adoption, there is no social service in place like here
in the US to help the children, they are homeless and on their own when they
leave the orphanage often between the ages of 14 & 16 and mandated at 16.
